Louis Brooks
Director of Development
Louis Brooks is a fundraising professional and arts advocate based in Seattle, WA. Currently entering his 8th season at Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra (SYSO), Louis manages a portfolio that generates nearly $1 million in annual charitable giving from individuals, institutional funders, and the greater public. Louis built a major giving and donor pipeline system that has increased select household giving by over 300%--he enjoys the puzzle-like matchmaking process of collaborating with executive leadership to reach fundraising goals. Louis recently completed a 2-year service on an advisory council for ArtsFund's Cultural Partners Network, a coalition of 146 Washington state-based arts nonprofits with annual budgets ranging from under $50k to over $5M. Louis believes that the orchestra and our concert halls are public assets everyone should experience, and during his time at SYSO, helped lead a charge to reduce concert ticketing prices by more than 50%. When he's not making music or advocating for it, Louis is cooking, attending a Mariners game, practicing yoga, or petting a stranger's dog.
